       The World Expo is a large-scale, global, non-commercial Expo. The hosting of the World Expo must be applied for by a country and approved by the international World Expo committee. Expo aims to promote the exchange of ideas and development of the world economy, culture, science and technology, to allow exhibitors to publicize and display their achievements and improve international relationships. Accordingly, the World Expo with its 150-year history is regarded as the Olympic Games of the economy, science and technology.
     World Expositions are galleries of human inspirations and thoughts. Since 1851 when the Great Exhibition of Industries of All Nations was held in London, the World Expositions have attained increasing prominence as grand events for economic, scientific, technological and cultural exchanges, serving as an important platform for displaying historical experience, exchanging innovative ideas, demonstrating esprit de corps and looking to the future. 
     The emblem, depicting the image of three people-you, me, him/her holding hands together, symbolizes the big family of mankind. Inspired by the shape of the Chinese character  (meaning the world), the design conveys the organizers' wish to host an Expo which is of global scale and which showcases the diversified urban cultures of the world.

     Certainly, "growing" is a proper word for what people and other living organisms do to arrive at a grown or mature state. They go through a series of changes and end up more complex and organized than when they started. It is no metaphor to speak a person in the following way:"He really grew . Although he's the same ;person he was, he's also very different." I mean, he thinks, behaves, and sees things differently from the way he uded to.

      Actually, each one is growing in some sense. Or, I can put it in this way, each one is still evolving in some sense.

     As often as not, people will say it is not easy to memorize new words.Interestingly enough, students tend to forget the words they have just learned. Actually, there is no better way to memorize them than reviewing them daily.Sometimes, we can try to use the words we have learned in our writing even use these words to make a story.Sure, if we can see the words frequently,we are likely to remember them well.And i hope the new words will not be the headache for English learners.

     I came across the notion of "google leading the fashion" days ago.It said that google can predict what is likely to be fashionable by studying people's searching habit and seaching result.It  is really interesting, and it may turn out to be a reality.

      Since the birth of Dolly, the first cloned sheep,cloning has become a very controversial issue.While the majority of government have banned human cloning, most scientists are sure that some day in the near future a human being will cloned. While the majority of the public are frightened by the idea of cloning, a few people are excited at prospects of cloning and anxiously await the day when they will be able to prepare "spare parts" for organ transplants and scientific studies.

     The cloning of human beings is still a dream; the few scientists who are trying to produce a cloned human have been unsuccessful. Creating a human being with desirable gentic qualities is much harder to do. Arranging the gentific material in the correct way is a tough task, although it should be possible. Dolly, the first sheep to be successfully cloned, died after a few years from diseases and genetic defects. Dolly was far from perfect.

      Science has performed a great feat in cloning a sheep; let's hope that all the consequences are considered before a human is cloned.

      We should take all the possibilities into careful consideration before making some bold decisions.

     It is known to all, the crisis on wall street has triggered international economic slowdown.No one can predict when it will be over.Therefore,it is not wise to dwell on it too much.

     Last night is the epoch-making moment.Many Chinese kept close track  of Obama's Inauguration Speech on the Internet.It seemed that firecrackers and fireworks were not enough to show people's  excitement and joy. "Obama, obama!" was everywhere in the air.Sure, it is our hope that Obama can be of some  help to the world.
